Celebrating Armenia’s Independence at the Navasartian Centre

On 3 October 2026, ACC UK hosted a gala dinner at the Navasartian Centre to mark the 35th anniversary of Armenia’s independence. His Grace Bishop Hovakim Manukyan, Primate of the Armenian Diocese of the United Kingdom and Ireland, attended the celebration. The evening featured a performance by singer Vartan Badalian from Armenia.

Addressing those gathered, Bishop Hovakim congratulated everyone on this significant anniversary and recalled the historic moment in 1991 when Armenians voted “Yes” to independence. Sharing personal memories of those days, he reflected on the hope and determination that marked this turning point in the life of the Armenian nation.

His Grace called for unity and dialogue in overcoming today’s challenges, encouraging Armenians to strengthen the bonds that unite them and to work together with a shared sense of responsibility for the future of their homeland and communities.
