Bishop Hovakim Manukyan Attends the Enthronement of the 106th Archbishop of Canterbury

Bishop Hovakim Manukyan, Primate of the Diocese of the Armenian Church in the United Kingdom and Ireland, took part in the enthronement of the 106th Archbishop of Canterbury, joining senior church leaders and representatives of Christian traditions from across the United Kingdom and beyond.

The solemn service, held at Canterbury Cathedral, marked a significant moment not only for the Church of England but also for the wider Christian community. The presence of leaders from different traditions reflected the shared desire for deeper unity and common witness in today’s world.

Bishop Hovakim participated in the service in his capacity as Co-President of Churches Together in England (CTE) and as a representative of the Armenian Church. During the ceremony, as the Archbishop signed the Ecumenical Covenant, he stood alongside the other Presidents of CTE, witnessing this act as a visible sign of commitment to cooperation, dialogue, and the strengthening of relationships among the Churches.
