Bishop Hovakim Manukyan Celebrates the Divine Liturgy in Manchester

On Sunday, 6 September 2026, His Grace Bishop Hovakim Manukyan, Primate of the Armenian Diocese of Great Britain and Ireland, celebrated the Divine Liturgy and delivered the homily at Holy Trinity Armenian Church in Manchester.

Reflecting on the day’s Gospel reading, in which Christ heals a man who was deaf and had difficulty speaking, Bishop Hovakim emphasised the importance of listening to God’s Word amid the many distractions and competing voices of the modern world.

His Grace reminded the congregation that truly listening to God means allowing His Word to enter our hearts, correct us and transform our lives. Before speaking to others about the Gospel, Christians must first listen to God and put His teaching into practice.

Following the service, members of the congregation gathered for a warm and joyful time of fellowship. Everyone enjoyed a delicious luncheon lovingly prepared by the Ladies’ Guild.

Bishop Hovakim expressed his sincere appreciation to the parish leadership, the Ladies’ Guild, and all those who contributed to the service and gathering. He offered his prayers for the continued spiritual growth, unity, and flourishing of the Armenian community in Manchester.
