From 26 to 30 November, we will make a pilgrimage to Venice, Italy, and I warmly invite you to join us.
A pilgrimage is not simply a tour or an outing. It is a spiritual journey—a time to step away from our usual surroundings, rediscover Christ in a new environment and culture, deepen our faith, and encounter a different spiritual tradition.
During this extraordinary visit, we will have the opportunity to pray with the Mekhitarist Fathers on the Island of San Lazzaro and to celebrate the Feast of the Holy Cross of Varag at the Armenian Church in the heart of Venice.
I particularly encourage women and young people to join us. Come with a friend, a family member or as part of our church-community. Let us travel, pray, learn and grow together, returning home spiritually renewed and strengthened in our faith.

Itinerary
Day One
San Lazzaro degli Armeni
& Burano
Begin the pilgrimage with a private boat journey across the Venetian lagoon to San Lazzaro degli Armeni, one of the world’s most important centres of Armenian heritage. Visit the historic Armenian monastery, home of the Mekhitarist Congregation, and discover its remarkable collection of manuscripts, books, art, and cultural treasures preserved over centuries.
A special moment of prayer with the Mekhitarist Congregation offers an opportunity for reflection and spiritual fellowship in this extraordinary Armenian sanctuary.
Continue by boat to the enchanting island of Burano, renowned for its vividly coloured houses and centuries-old lace-making tradition. Enjoy a leisurely walking tour, time to explore the island’s charming streets and artisan shops, and lunch at one of its traditional seafood restaurants.
Return to Venice by boat and enjoy a free evening to relax, explore, or experience the city at your own pace.
Day Two
Day Excursion to Verona
Travel from Venice to the beautiful city of Verona, a UNESCO-listed city celebrated for its rich history, elegant squares, and timeless romantic atmosphere. Journey by train through the Veneto countryside before arriving in the historic heart of Verona.
Discover the city on a guided walking tour, taking in the magnificent Piazza Bra, the lively Piazza delle Erbe, the elegant Piazza dei Signori, and the historic Scaliger Tombs. Continue to Juliet’s House, one of Verona’s most famous landmarks, and experience the stories and traditions that have made the city synonymous with romance.
Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before having free time to explore Verona at your own pace—browse its charming boutiques, discover artisan shops, or simply soak up the atmosphere of the historic centre.
In the late afternoon, return to Venice by train, bringing a memorable day of culture, history, and discovery to a close.
Day Three
Holy Cross Armenian Church & the Treasures of Venice
Begin the day with a walk through the heart of Venice to the Armenian Holy Cross Church, where the pilgrimage continues with the celebration of Divine Liturgy. This special service offers a meaningful opportunity to come together in prayer and experience the enduring presence of the Armenian Church in Venice.
Following the Liturgy, explore the city on a guided walking tour through Venice’s historic streets, canals, and iconic landmarks. Discover the city’s remarkable artistic traditions with a visit to a traditional Murano glass workshop, where generations of skilled artisans have perfected the craft of Venetian glassmaking.
Enjoy lunch together before having the option to further explore Venice’s celebrated cultural treasures. Afternoon visits may include the magnificent Doge’s Palace and St Mark’s Basilica.
Return to the hotel for some free time to relax and enjoy Venice at your own pace before the pilgrimage draws to a close.
Return to London
Depart Venice on 30 November, taking with you memories of a journey of faith, Armenian heritage, fellowship, and discovery.
