Bishop Hovakim and Community Members Complete AGBU Global Run for Camp Nairi

On the morning of September 20th, 2026, His Grace Bishop Hovakim Manukyan, Primate of the Diocese of the Armenian Church of the United Kingdom and Ireland, and dedicated community members joined Team London in the AGBU Global Run for Camp Nairi in Gunnersbury Park. The good weather lent to everyone’s high spirits and enthusiasm as our members took part in the 10K Run or the 5K Walk to raise funds for Camp Nairi - a campaign supporting displaced children and families.

“It was a joy to run 10K earlier today in support of AGBU’s Camp Nairi project, alongside young and old members of our community," said Bishop Hovakim in an Instagram post. “The atmosphere was wonderful, and the sense of unity and enthusiasm was truly inspiring! Please join us in supporting this important project.”

About AGBU Camp Nairi

In the fall of 2020, the lives of thousands of children in Artsakh and Armenia were forever changed by the 44-day war, as many lost family members or saw loved ones injured, leaving deep emotional wounds. Three years later, following a blockade leading to a lack of food, electricity, and resources, 120,000 Armenians were once again forced to leave their ancestral homes under threat, exposing children to the trauma of displacement and loss. 

Today, many of these families live in Armenia and find support at AGBU Camp Nairi, a free sleep-away camp designed for therapeutic sessions and recreational bonding. In addition, AGBU provides weekend family retreats with access to mental health professionals, including art and music therapy.
